Welcome to Pack 47

About our Pack

Pack 47 has served the Ute Meadows area for over 25 years.  Our pack includes about 40 boys and girls organized into Dens according to grade level.  Our Cub Scouts attend local schools from our area, including Ute Meadows Elementary, Mortensen Elementary, Collegiate Academy, Montessori Peaks, and Front Range Christian School, as well as the homeschooling community.

Who can join Pack 47?

Pack 47 is open to all boys and girls in Kindergarten through 5th grades. Boys and girls may join the Pack in any of these grades and at any time of the year. Our annual Join Night happens at the beginning of the school year, but you can contact us at any time for information on joining our pack.

What do Cub Scouts do?

Our pack is an active one and there’s no end to the fun things that Cub Scouts do in their dens, as a pack, and at special events:

  • Den and Pack Meetings –  Den meetings are the stepping-stones by which a boy or girl progresses through the Cub Scout program. Pack meetings are for families to learn and celebrate scout milestones together.
  • Cub Scout Camping – Learn about living in the outdoors, while exploring the natural world around us.
  • Cub Scout Derbies –  Design a racing vehicle with a parent and watch it perform on race day. 2019 Pinewood Derby Video
  • Outings and Field Trips – Participate in a variety of outdoor activities and field trips, including hiking, marksmanship, historical landmarks, and nature and conservation.
  • Service Projects – Learn the importance of helping the community and other people through doing service projects together.
  • Blue and Gold Banquet – Celebrate the “birthday” of scouting and the crossing over of our Webelos to Boy Scouts with a special banquet for our pack families.
  • Crossover Ceremony  – all Scouts are honored and recognized for their hard work  and celebrated as they advance to the next rank.
  • End of the year picnic – End the school year with a family picnic and epic water balloon toss!

What is the time commitment?

Cub Scouts typically attend a monthly den meeting with Scouts in their grade/age group and a monthly pack meeting.  In addition, there may be activities that can be completed at home in order to meet the requirements of their rank.  There may also be additional pack or den activities, such as community service events, hikes or campouts that scouts can choose to participate in.
